When It Comes To Plastic Injection Mold Construction, You Have Options:
Prototype (Class 105 Mold): Limited quantity prototype parts, cycles are not exceeding 500. These molds are built inexpensively to produce a very limited number of product prototypes for test.
Low Run Production Mold (Class 104 Mold): Good for limited-production parts with non-abrasive materials, cycles are not exceeding 100,000. These molds fall within low to moderate price ranges.
Medium Production Molds(Class 103 Mold): A very popular mold for low to medium production parts, automated lifters or slides, good with abrasive materials, cold runners with the exception of a few hot runners, cycles are not exceeding 500,000 pcs.
Medium to High Production Molds(Class 102 Mold): Good for parts with abrasive materials and/or tight tolerance, cycles are not exceeding 1 million. These molds are fairly high priced and made with materials of high quality.
Extremely High Run Mold (Class 101 Mold) Hardened tool steel, multi-cavity, fully automated, generally hot runners, cycles are 1 million or more. These molds are the highest priced and made with only the highest quality materials.
